I watched a few snippets of Joan Rivers stand up comedy this weekend. She definitely wasn't the one to take the bull by the horns but rather someone who was the bull herself. I enjoyed watching her, she was quite a force and I can see why she appealed to so many age groups as she expanded her empire from comedian to business woman.
As I was watching, if you listened closely, she had some pretty interesting ideals about life. Most know her as being a successful business women. She created her own line of jewelry, cosmetics and clothing that appealed to the masses. I guess you could argue success is often about finding the right key to open the right door. Joan Rivers once said, "If I can't make it through one door, I'll go through another door — or I'll make a door." It is all about what you believe you can do and you just do it. She didn't apologize for being persistent and I think that's why so many people followed her. Love her or hate her... she was Joan. As I was watching she had advice for just every person from all walks of life. Here are a few things I picked up on. #1 - Be relevant and keep up on trends. Do make sure you're involved and always reading about the next best things, most businesses thrive by changing with the times. #2 - Have a sense of humor and have fun with what you're creating. Just because you're in business doesn't mean it has to be dull or boring. Try new things, learn! I think some of my most interesting and funny moments have come from just interacting with my customers. I love all the stories and sharing ideas with one another. And lastly, be professional and courteous. I think that statement speaks for itself. So I'll leave you with a neat quote I read earlier today.... "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is God's gift, that's why we call it the present. " Bil Keane Enjoy your day~
