I did it, I finally purchased a product on the internet that is truly disheartening....I bought a "Christmas tree". You might think... that's not too bad, it's an artificial and people these days purchase them. Well folks, I bought a real Christmas tree. I am laughing and sad at the same time. In this day and age, you really can buy just about anything on the internet. Well except happiness I suppose ha ha.
My family and I are always on the move and with starting the new shop in Frederick MD during the holidays (later holiday hours), its been hard to get out and purchase a tree for our home. Budgeting and bills are always in the back of my mind as well as daily store operations so sadly Christmas at our home has not been priority. We like to give our kids the experience of having a real tree just like when we were kids. We could just opt for an artificial but its just not the same.
We tried last night to purchase one and being Sunday, everything was closed when I arrived home. This morning when I came into the shop, I received an email about trees being offered at a local chain hardware store. A Huge Sale on Real Trees Today Only. My eyes lit up and twinkled for a moment - I clicked on it and there it was.... "purchase online and pick it up on the way home". Insert my silly sad face here.... I feel like a character in Charlie Brown; contemplating commercialism and the holidays. Yes, I've taken the fun out of choosing a tree and having the kids pick their favorite. On the other hand, we now have a reserved Christmas tree for my family to decorate and ring in some long awaited Christmas cheer. There is always next year, right? ;)
