The 4th Annual Harpers Ferry-Bolivar Art Walk weekend has come and gone. I am so blessed to have been able to step-in an organize such a wonderful event. I'd like to send out many thanks to the folks that helped organize the entertainment and poster design. I was also tickled to see many of my old friends come out and support me. Thank you for the strength you have given me, I really feel the love and support from you all. My dear friend Lura, you are the image of an angel and I was so happy to get to hug you again! You're strength is amazing.
As the choir performed outside of my shop, on the John Brown Pavilion, I felt such a strong emotion during the Disney classic performance, this one line: "Dreams really do come true" hit home for me. Typically I'm not a publicly emotional person but as I looked up at the sky, tears fell. It's been a bumpy road, but this Art-C-Girl is finally on the right path in life.
I enjoy all my customers, the products and all of the encouragement that have followed. My shop jewelry designer, Dianne Waldron is a gem and I couldn't have asked for a better person to have partnered with here at La Niche. She is inspiring and oh so talented! Here's too a long and fruitful friendship. I was introduced to a handful of lovely ladies who came to support Dianne. Wonderful women with such positive and uplifting personalities. Thank you for all the good vibes and encouragement. Here is to a successful 5th Annual Art Walk in 2016! Have a blessed day everyone!
This year I am super excited to be joining the Eastern Panhandle Chapter of Alzheimers Association, to put on my tennis shoes and to WALK TO END ALZ. Team La Niche will be walking this year in this epic event! If you're interested in supporting our team for the cause, please contact our shop!
Spring cleaning has commenced in my household and with that, it's time to start pulling out the old terracotta pots and planters. Last year like many other years before, I bring my pots inside for the winter. Unfortunately, I always end up with one or two that just do not make it for one reason or another. Not to fear! There are ways to salvage these pots and they make for a terrific rustic backdrop for any flourishing flower bed. Use these ideas for your next landscape project. They're sure to make for a great front landscape piece or deck garden display! And don't forget, if your making a small deck garden piece, use such plants as "chicks and hens" or herbs to dress up your rustic pot displays. Happy Spring & Happy Planting.
