You're hearing a lot of buzz about clean eating these days. With so many non-pronounceable ingredients additives and preservatives in our everyday food, its not a surprise we're done with eating unhealthy. Having young children I've begun to really pay more attention to what my little ones are putting inside there bodies. I've especially paid attention to the GMO factor. We really still don't understand what exactly they're "altering" to make such items as crops, drought resistant and resistant to disease. I then begin to think what exactly happens when you put said food inside your body... silly thoughts begin to cross my mind like: "Could we be drought resistant?" lol. "Does this mean I don't have to drink 32 oz of water per day?" No, of course not...but all joking aside, these are a concern or should be a concern in every households. With this in mind, I;ve jumped on the bandwagon with clean eating and in doing some research, I've found some fun recipes to try out with my kids. I was very fortunate to have two kids that have a love for fresh raw veggies and fruits as much as I do.... especially in the summer! My kids and I go through about 4 pounds of cucumbers in a week! That's a lot of cucumbers!
In my quest to make clean eating a little more tasty and approachable for my kids... I have a great recipe I've attached. I typically make this as a breakfast treat and they seem to really like it. Adjust the recipe to your liking.... my kids sometimes like a little drizzle of honey on top to make it a little sweeter. I sometimes use a packet of Stevia too. Or add a cup of almond milk and try making it a smoothie if you're the type of person that is always on the run. Either way, this is one of my favorite go-to recipes. Enjoy~
