A good friend of mine works for Traveling Vineyards and from time to time I get to sample some of his delicious wine offerings. It's a neat concept where you sample wine before you buy and it's all done in the convenience of your own home. Personally the concept is a fun spin on home parties as you get to drink the merchandise. It's one of those ideas that you think to yourself "Why didn't I think of that?" Truly a brilliant idea....
Just this morning he sent me an email with some really neat pairings for St. Patty's day dishes and if you're like me (someone who loves an occasional cocktail) you like to try different types of recipes.
Here's a sangria recipe that caught my eye. It sure get's me in the mood for warmer weather and outdoor grilling!
1 bottle of white wine 1 lemon sliced 1 lime sliced 1 kiwi sliced 2 green apples (cut into wedges) 1/3 cup of sugar A splash of lime juice 2 cups club soda or citrus seltzer 1 pretty pitcher ice cubes
Place fruit into pitcher, added sugar, then liquids and mix together. Pour over a few ice cubes.... and if you like, add a little green garnish (I suggest a few mint leaves). This is definitely a very refreshing treat! Many Thanks to my favorite Traveling Vineyards rep- Arnold Crouse!
